Best Coffee Maker

In one out of two homes, you'll find a coffee maker. As half the US population drinks coffee, a coffee maker has chance of being the right gift for someone.

Let's look at the best coffee makers below.

What is the best coffee maker?

In general, coffee makers are divided into 4 categories, each with their very own pros and cons. First up is the percolator. While the percolator have been around for centuries and brews a strong cup of coffee, the coffee is often over extracted and bitter from the continuous heat.

The more popular type nowadays is the automatic drip coffee machine. This is a straightforward, no-nonsense coffee maker which you can program and brew coffee in a matter of minutes. You can even fill it up with hot water the night before, add your favorite coffee grinds and wake up to freshly brewed coffee the next morning. However, you'll need to keep replacing the filters which can be a hassle.

The third category would be the French press. The French press is a simple device that brews and filter your coffee in a single mug. You get to control your own brewing time and water temperature, and this in turn makes you the master of your coffee. Depending on the design of the model, the French press may produce strong, flavorful coffee or a muddy brew.

Last but not least, we have the vacuum coffee maker. This coffee maker is simple to use but entertaining to watch. The two variations of vacuum coffee makers are the Aeropress and the siphon. Both are transparent and you can watch the coffee brewing process.

So, which is the best type of coffee maker for you?
